The “pituitary gland” is an endocrine gland located just beneath the brain (it is tucked into a bony space below the brain). The pituitary gland receives input and influence from the hypothalamus. It produces adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH), which controls the secretion of cortisol by the adrenal glands. This helps trigger the “fight-or-flight” response.

has any one reading this board had a pituitary tumor .I have just gone threw surgery to remove mine .My question I have is do any of you think that to much stress has caused your tumor .I'm on a work comp claim and after 4 years of the insurers BS they hire a flake doctor for a exam on me and he lied about all kinds of stuff .I started getting stressed real bad and anxiety and 2 weeks after his appointment i started getting headaches .After I received his report 2 months later I lost it and the head aches came back with a vengeance .Then hot flashes 30 to 40 a day (not normal for a male) . According to my doctors and blood work I had no signs of the tumor before.I know deep down that stress has caused this but there is no way to prove it.Also no body in my family mom or dad side has ever had any tumors or cancer. If anybody has had this happen and they believe stress has caused it please take the time to tell me your story. The insurance company is trying to dismiss my whole case saying the tumor is causing all my problem .I need help .
    Thank you for your time
